Bead Finishes

Below is a partial listing of types of bead finishes.

Opaque

Solid color, cannot see through it. 

Transparent

See through color, allows light to pass through.

Opal

Milky color, not quite transparent, but not quite opaque

Silver Lined

A transparent bead that has a silver lining. Makes it very sparkly.

Gold Lined

Inside of the bead has a gold lining - kind of milky with a warm sparkle inside.

Color Lined

Inside of a transparent colored bead is lined with a different color.

AB

A metallic rainbow or mirror-like finish, usually on one side of the bead.

Matte

All the shine has been removed from the surface of the bead giving it a flat look.

Rainbow

A light rainbow-ish finish covering the entire bead. Very sparkly.

Matte Rainbow

Same as rainbow but with the shine removed.
Luster A glowing finish on top of the main color - almost a golden sheen on transparent beads - a silvery sheen on opaque beads.
