is a partial listing of types of bead finishes.

Opaque |
Solid color, cannot see through it. |

Transparent |
See through color, allows light to pass through. |
|
Opal |
Milky color, not quite transparent, but not quite opaque |

Silver Lined |
A transparent bead that has a silver lining. Makes it very sparkly. |
|
Gold Lined |
Inside of the bead has a gold lining - kind of milky with a warm sparkle inside. |

Color Lined |
Inside of a transparent colored bead is lined with a different color. |
|
AB |
A metallic rainbow or mirror-like finish, usually on one side of the bead. |
|
Matte |
All the shine has been removed from the surface of the bead giving it a flat look. |
|
Rainbow |
A light rainbow-ish finish covering the entire bead. Very sparkly. |
|
Matte Rainbow |
Same as rainbow but with the shine removed. |
| Luster | A glowing finish on top of the main color - almost a golden sheen on transparent beads - a silvery sheen on opaque beads. |
